What to do in Selca?

In the interior of the island of Brač, one kilometre from the coast, lies the village of Selca. This Dalmatian village enchants its visitors with the art of stone masonry with centuries of tradition. The culture and tradition of stone masonry is visible in every corner and especially in the numerous stone monuments that can be seen all over the place. The charm of Selca comes from the fact that every building here is made with the white stones of Brač. A fact: Antonio Štambuk was a slave who bought his freedom with his amazing stone carving skills. He passed on his knowledge of stone cutting, which made Selca the birthplace of stone cutting in Croatia. But the area is not only known for stone carving, but the island also has its own variety of olive: “buhavica”. There are only a few olive trees on which this variety of olive grows, so the olive oil made from the buhavica is very expensive. In the Selca area, there are two tourist zones: Punitnak and Ružmarin.

The cuisine traditions are diverse, as on the other islands. However, some products stand out, so much so that special events are dedicated to them. Poolincluded mentions two: The first is Brač cake hrapoćuša, named after a special kind of rock, that dominates the village of Dol, which is considered the home of the cake. Also, very important is vitalac, made of lamb, it does not look very tasty, but we promise you, it is the top speciality. Bol is a municipality, on Brač, located on the south side of the island and the most famous tourist destination on the island. It consists of two villages – Bol and Murvica. The most famous beach on Brač is Zlatni Rat, a pebble beach with a V-shape
