What to do in Poličnik?

Poličnik is a centrally located region in Zadar – Croatia, 15 kilometres away is the old town of Zadar. A visit to the old town in Zadar is definitely worth it! The cosy town full of different shops and restaurants creates a good atmosphere. In the city you will also find many historical aspects and you can visit several museums.

Another must is to take a boat trip from Zadar to the Kornati islands, this group of islands lies before Zadar and here you have beautiful beaches. The water here is beautifully blue and you can do wonderful snorkelling here. From Zadar, there are several cruises that go to the islands, you can go with a large group but it is also possible to book a private cruise.

During your stay in Poličnik, a visit to the Krka waterfalls is also recommended. These waterfalls are located near the city of Šibenik, the nature park is 110 km2 in total and has 7 waterfalls with a total height of 242 metres. When you are planning to visit the Krka waterfalls in summer, we advise you to go that way in time, because there is place for maximum 10.000 guests in the park, when the park is full, it closes.

If you go in the other direction, to the north, it will take you about 45 minutes to reach the island of Pag. This peninsula is known for its sheep cheese, which is unique because the sheep get extra salt. The wind that blows over the island contains salt from the sea, this salt then falls down on the island. This gives the cheese a unique flavour.

The weather in Poličnik

Poličnik has a Mediterranean climate, with warm and dry summers and mild winters. In the summer, the Velebit mountain range keeps the rain out. However, rain can fall regularly in autumn, winter and spring.
