What to do in Privlaka?
Privlaka is a small picturesque holiday village in Central Dalmatia, close to the historic tourist resort of Zadar. Privlaka is located on a peninsula, surrounded by beautiful beaches and clear blue sea on three sides. This place is known for its beautiful clear water, charming beaches and pine forests near the sea.
From Privlaka you can go in different directions, you can go further up the peninsula and go to Vir. On Vir there are several beautiful beaches where you can enjoy the summer and cool off in the sea. You also have a Scuba diving centre on Vir, if you like diving then this is the place to be. On the island of Vir you can also visit the Kastelina castle, this old castle is not very big but if you drive past it is worth a visit.
From Privlaka it takes about 30 minutes to get to Zadar, during your holiday in Privlaka a visit to Zadar is a must. With the old centre, narrow streets and cosy restaurants, a day trip to Zadar is certainly not a punishment.
When staying in the Zadar region, a visit to the Krka national park is also highly recommended! The Krka waterfalls are close to Šibenik, which is about 1 hour and 15 minutes by car. It takes some time to get there but the national park is definitely worth a visit. In total there are 7 waterfalls in the park that you can visit, these have a total height of 242 metres. If you go to the Krka waterfalls in the summer, we advise you to go in time, because the park has a maximum number of visitors who can be in the park at the same time. By going in time you avoid waiting for a long time or even not being able to enter the park.
The weather in Privlaka
Zadar has a Mediterranean climate, with warm and dry summers and mild winters. In the summer, the Velebit Mountains keep the rain out. However, rain may fall regularly in autumn, winter and spring. In the winter, strong winds can also occur, which can rage across the country at speeds of up to 180 km.
