What to do in Ražanac?
Ražanac is located at the foot of the Pag peninsula and is situated on the coast. It is a small village with a few restaurants and some small supermarkets. For a nice day out, you could explore the Pag peninsula, which is known for its sheep cheese. The sheep race around the island, and because of the wind that comes from the sea, there is a layer of salt on the island. This gives the cheese its unique flavour. On the island is the town of Kolan, where the traditional cheeses are made and where you can visit the cheese factory Gligora.
Ražanac is about 30 minutes drive from the city of Zadar where you can visit the old centre. Here, you will find many historical things such as cosy Roman squares, narrow alleys, churches and ruins. There are also several museums in the old centre where you can find the history of Zadar. Besides the rich history, the city is also very suitable for shopping and walking through the small streets. There are also many different restaurants where you can eat deliciously. A visit to the old centre of Zadar is definitely a must when you are on holiday in Ražanac.
In the surroundings of Ražanac there are also many islands, you can choose to go on the water and explore the different islands. You can do this by taking a cruise that will take you to the various islands, including the Kornati National Park. This is a group of about 140 islands.
The weather in Ražanac
Ražanac has a Mediterranean climate with warm and dry summers and mild winters. In the summer, the Velebit mountains keep the rain out. However, in autumn, winter and spring, rain can fall regularly.
