What to do in Škabrnja?

Škabrnja is a small and quiet village in the Zadar region. Outside the village is an old tank that serves as a war memorial. In the village itself you’ll also find several memorials. From Škabrnja you can reach the city of Zadar within half an hour. During your stay here, a visit to the old centre of Zadar is certainly worthwhile. In the old centre, you will find a lot of history like churches, museums, ruins and old buildings. You will also find many shops and restaurants in the old centre of Zadar.

During your holiday in this region, a visit to the Krka waterfalls is also worthwhile. These waterfalls are located near the city of Šibenik, which is about a 45-minute drive away. The Krka national park has 7 waterfalls with a total height of 242 metres. When you plan to visit the park in summer, we advise you to go in time. There is a maximum number of people who can enter the park at the same time, namely 10,000. If you go in time, you are guaranteed to get in.

Škabrnja has a Mediterranean climate, with warm and dry summers and mild winters. In the summer, the Velebit mountain range keeps the rain out. However, in autumn, winter and spring, rain may fall regularly. In the winter, strong winds can occur, which can reach speeds of 180 km over the country.
