What to do in Sukošan?

Sukošan is a small village with a harbour in the bay of Zlatna Luka, which is about 10 kilometres away from the city of Zadar. The village is popular for its ideal location and nature, but Sukošan is also home to the largest marina in Croatia, Marina Dalmacija, which attracts many water sports enthusiasts.

When staying in Sukošan, it is worth visiting the old town of Zadar, which is about 20 minutes away by car. The old town of Zadar is rich in history and you can learn a lot about the history of the city here. In the old centre, you will also find museums and ruins. Besides the rich history, Zadar is also a cosy city where you can find many squares with restaurants.

During your stay, a visit to the Krka waterfalls cannot be missed, the waterfalls are close to the city of Šibenik and in total it is about a 1-hour drive. The national park Krka has a total of 7 waterfalls with a total height of 242 metres. The park has a size of 110 km2, if you want to visit the park in summer, we recommend you to go on time. There is a maximum number of 10,000 visitors that can enter the park at the same time.

From the harbour, several boat excursions are offered, for example, you can book a sailing trip and sail along all the different islands off the coast. You will also find the Korneti National Park, which consists of 140 islands, islets and rocks. During the boat excursion, you will also pass by several beautiful beaches with clear blue water, where you can swim and snorkel.

The weather in Sukošan

Zadar has a Mediterranean climate, with warm and dry summers and mild winters. In the summer, the Velebit Mountains keep the rain out. However, rain can fall regularly in autumn, winter and spring. In the winter, strong winds can also occur, which can rage across the country at speeds of up to 180 km.
