What to do in Tkon?
Tkon is an old fishing village in the south of Pašman Island, also the ferry boat arrives in Pašman from Biograd Na Moru. On the Pašman Island, you can find the Benedictine monastery Sveti Kuzma i Damjan on the mountain Ćokovac from the 12th century. Traditional dishes are also prepared on the island, where you can enjoy home-made brandy, dried figs and local wine. Some of the local dishes include dried ham (pršut), cheese, lamb and seafood stewed under the ‘Peka’, which is a type of BBQ stew.
Pasman Island is known for its tranquillity, an ideal place to escape from the crowded tourist resorts. The Pasman Island is connected with the Ugljan Island on the northern point, the Pasman Island is slightly less known than the Ugljan Island. All over the island there is one road that connects all the villages.
During your stay on the island it is also a must to go on the water, the national park Korneti is at the doorstep! This nature park consists of 140 islands, islets and rocks. You will also find many bays with clear blue water, where you can moor to take a dive. If you are not able to rent a boat or to drive one yourself (you need, among other things, a sailing licence 2 for this). It is also possible to book a boat excursion.
The weather in Tkon
It is best to visit Tkon in Croatia from May to September, when the temperature is pleasant and there is little or no precipitation. A Mediterranean climate prevails on the island. In July, the maximum temperature is around 28 degrees and the water temperature is between 14 and 27 degrees.
