What to do in Hradec Kralove?
While staying in Hradec Kralove, a visit to the white tower in the town centre is a must! You can also go all the way up the tower, from the top of which you have a wonderful view of the whole town! In the tower itself there is also an exhibition about the history of the city. If you want to learn more about the history of this town, there is also the Museum of East Bohemia. Even if you are not a museum person, you should still visit the museum, because the museum building itself is unique!
If you go on holiday with children, a trip to the Zoopark Stezery is really a must! This is a small zoo where you can see the animals up close and some you can even feed, this is certainly a fun activity for the kids! The zoo is open from Monday to Sunday from 10:00 to 17:00. There is a small fee for the entrance which is used to buy food for the animals. Adults pay 150 CZK and children 50 CZK.
From Hradec Kralove it is about a 1.5 hour drive to the capital Prague. If you are in the area, a trip to Prague is highly recommended! Prague has a rich history and here you can certainly entertain yourself for a day by visiting all the sights. Prague has a compact centre which makes it easy to visit on foot. The old centre is our personal favourite! Here you have the Jewish Quarter, Charles Bridge and the Astronomical Clock. Besides that, the city is also very cosy and there are many different restaurants and shops where you can walk along and have a nice meal at one of the restaurants on one of the squares.

Hradec Kralove has a temperate continental climate. Because it is temperate you have, for example, warm summers but no extreme heat. The average temperature in summer is 23 degrees. The winters are cold and there is a lot of snow!
