What to do in Poreč?

One of the most beautiful places to visit in the city is Decumanus Street, also called the promenade of the coastal town. This street dates back to Roman times and consists of several boutiques and shops that are definitely worth a visit. Are you looking for something less commercial? Then walk along the Matije Gupca Square, where locals and tourists come together. Culture lovers will enjoy the numerous city palaces such as the Venetian Zuccato Palace in Gothic and Baroque style. Would you like to be able to enjoy the white pebble beaches along the Adriatic next to your holiday home with private swimming pool? Then visit one of the popular seaside resorts in the north or the peninsula Plava Laguna in the south for a relaxing day. Besides the many activities in the city, there are plenty of opportunities and attractions in the Istrian County. By car, you can easily reach the Brijuni islands, the old fishing village of Vrsar and the town of Rovinj for a day of change.

Culinary journey through Poreč

The town of Poreč is located along the west coast of the Adriatic Sea and is (not surprisingly) famous for its delicious fresh fish. It is a must to end one of the holiday days at one of the many fresh fish restaurants at the town’s harbour. The different kinds of fish, shellfish and seafood jump from the sea onto your plate! Combine this dish with a local organic wine and your evening will be unforgettable. Due to the favourable location, climate and soil, the wines from the Istrian County are almost magical.

The weather in Poreč

Poreč located in the Istrian County has a maritime climate with many hours of sunshine, which makes it an ideal holiday destination. In general, it is slightly cooler here than in the southern Dalmatia, due to the various winds that bring refreshment from the sea. Rainfall makes the peninsula one of the greenest places in Croatia. During the summer months, however, there is plenty of sunshine and you can enjoy the great outdoors with temperatures between 25 and 30 degrees. In combination with high humidity, it can feel quite warm. On the coast, there is often a nice breeze which makes it quite bearable.
